A few months ago, I asked a founder what “freedom” looks like for him.

He paused.

Then said something I’ve heard far too often:

“I’ll be free once we scale.”

It sounds logical, almost noble.

More clients = more cash.

More cash = more team.

More team = less work for you, right?

Except... that’s where the trap is.

I’ve seen this play out most often inside agencies for the last 3 years.

Scaling without systems is like adding more passengers to a bus with a flat tire.

The engine’s already shaky.

The brakes? Questionable.

And the GPS? Non-existent.

More weight just means you crash harder and faster.

That’s why I always say:
